It is at the Senhor dos Aflitos Picnic Park that the Rota do Paiva walking trail begins.
An ancient sanctuary, it was a point of passage and meeting for pilgrims on the route that led them to Lapa (one of the oldest places of worship in the Iberian Peninsula).
