marcadamente gran\u00edtico, circundada por manchas de pinar y peque\u00f1os campos agr\u00edcolas mimosamente irrigados por el r\u00edo Paiva y por la ribera de Cubos.<\/p><p>El godo Alarico le dio el nombre de villa Alarici, pero sus or\u00edgenes son m\u00e1s remotos y se remontan a la prehistoria, cuya presencia de d\u00f3lmenes y otros vestigios neol\u00edticos atestiguan. En esos tiempos, las grandes pe\u00f1as eran usadas como refugios por nuestros inmemoriales abuelos que ah\u00ed construyeron el poblado amurallado del \u201cCastelo\u201d.
